Idling (via sustainableamerica)

I was one of those who would sit in my car leaving the engine on while waiting for my brother to come out. Recently, my mom told me that it was bad for the environment because you’re hurting the engine and wasting gas. I don’t like paying for gas, who doesn’t? But the fact that you’re hurting your engine really got me thinking. If I was driving on the freeway then suddenly… okay I don’t want to get there. The infographic I found from Sustainable America took a deeper dive in this topic. Enjoy.

All in one with the COIN.

I don’t know what kind of review this might be, business, product, or design, but I guess the first in foremost, anyone heard of this?

This is pretty awesome if you ask me because you store all your cards in one COIN. This is a great solution for those that keep losing or misplacing things.

Now to get into the design of things, the website. FINALLY, a good use of parallax! There aren’t too much of these out there that I think are successful. I believe that simple website design should definitely be communicative and direct to the point where I say, “Ah I understand.” That is all.

A video I came across while browsing through the internet and would like to share it with you all (and inspire you). This totally reminded me of the chalk-art post I posted a long time ago. Enjoy! :]

Awesome Book about Dyslexia

November 7, 2013 § Leave a comment

Ever wonder what it is like to be dyslexic? Today, I found a kickstarter project title “I wonder what its like to be dyslexic” by Sam Barclay. I will get my hands on this beautifully designed book  hopefully soon, but I have always been curious what their world is like since I don’t get exposed to it that much. Just looking at the spreads made me realize how much people with dyslexia feels with reading. The colors and the tone of the book is excellent!! If you would like to support and back the project, go to this link here.

After 2.5 years, I’m back to blogging!

November 7, 2013 § Leave a comment

I’ve been on a 2.5 year hiatus and in the process of upgrading this very very old blog into my own theme when I get the chance. Graduation time is tough between now and at the end of the year. Honestly looking back to the stuff I posted made me realize how much I’ve grown as a designer and how much I miss blogging about the stuff I like. I must say reading all the comments both positive and negative made me realize now I can do better than what I had before! I’m really sorry if I wasn’t able to respond some comments from over a six months ago.

From this day forward, I will do my best to keep up with posting once a week until the time I graduation, and hope to make this your source for your design inspiration. In the meantime, check out my website.

I think what’s making me survive this term is my communication design class and motion class. Why? Prior to coming to Art Center, I was taught to do research and thumbnails. Plus, I’ve been told that companies want to know your thinking behind one work not just look at your final piece. Your final piece is just one solution. Since then, I’ve been gradually losing the ability of CONCEPTUAL THINKING (what is what I’m good at) and just work on stuff that doesn’t make sense. In other words, designing for myself instead of the actually project. This term I must say I’m happy to take the classes that are reviving that which I have lost. What brought me back was I think the sub I had for motion. Something he said woke me up. Anyway, I wasn’t happy with them at first because I feel I wasn’t challenged enough, but for $16,000 I think its worth relearning on my end.

With that said, this term is going to be fun. Here’s what I did in my motion design class bare there’s no sound effects since I couldn’t find a good sound effect for it. Not too shabby but at least I’m getting a jist of After Effects . Currently working on my side project.
